Anger is detrimental to your health.

"Consistent, prolonged levels of anger give a person a five times greater chance of dying before age 50...Anger elevates blood pressure, increases threat of stroke, heart disease, cancer, depression, anxiety disorders, and, in general, depresses the immune system (angry people have lots of little aches and pains or get a lot of colds and bouts of flu or headaches or upset stomachs)." (Steven Stosny, PhD, CompassionPower)

Take a coin bag or other container with you wherever you go. Every time you feel angry, upset or irritated during the day, place a dime in the bag. At night, place the dimes in a jar or piggy bank. At the end of the week, pick up each dime. Think of the health effect that each dime represents. Each dime may eventually represent one thousand dollars that you may have to pay later to recover from the damage that anger causes in your body. How many thousands of dollars does your bank contain?

If you are studying in a school or program, do this project with a group. Have a group jar with dimes and discuss what each dime means. Then laugh together and buy a CD with the money. Music and laughter are much cheaper than anger in your life!
